Jon Paul was born in London in 1981 and studied Human Biology and Sports Science. Jon Paul moved to Dublin Ireland in 1999 where he studied Classical Animation at Ballyfermont College and Life Drawing at Trinity College Dublin.
After leaving Trinity College Dublin, Jon Paul worked on many projects in different places and spent a lot of time in Italy, before going back to London to meet a portrait painter, Alexander Talbot-Rice who has painted people such as The Queen and Prince Philip.
Jon Paul became Alexander's assistant for some time before moving to Stockholm, Sweden where he worked on various projects. Artist Jon-Paul now lives in London working on many Architectural projects, as well as doing freelance illustrations and caricature work, comissioned paintings and can be seen drawing at Alton Towers.
Jon-Paul has recently produced work for clients that include Intercontinental, British Airways, AOL and The Daily Mail.
Jon Paul became a father in 2008 with the birth of his son Finn who weighed xx xxx.
Jon Paul Antony McCarthy was the first artist to produce a "Double T Ted's cartoon strip storyboard in November 2008 with the Tted the Ted The KIng of the Ted's introduces HostTed storyboard. Jon-Paul's brief was to produce Tted as a Rock N Roll teddy bear complete with DA haircut in the fifties Teddy Boy style and to give him an Elvis Presley like look with his style of clothes.
The brief for HostTed was to dress him in a Tuxedo. Jon-Paul was given a free hand when it came to the five plate cartoon strip and was just asked to include the two characters. As the very first "Double T Ted's" cartoon strip it was also left up to Jon-Paul whether he wanted to have the five plates seperate with borders or as one complete strip with no borders. |
